Piolo Pascual's Lovers in Paris is a remake of a Korean telenovela of the same title. They'll tell the story of Vivian, Carlo, and Martin all over again, this time with a Filipino twist.

Piolo Pascual Was Advised Against Playing the Bad Guy Role in Kimi Dora

Piolo Pascual is producing yet another movie, but this time it's not an indie production but a mainstream one. The movie will launch Eugene Domingo as a solo actress. And this film would determine if she's bankable enough.

Piolo is not producing the film by his own. He is just one of the many co-producers of the film, who fetched in time, talent, and effort to produce it. Even Eugene Domingo's leading man, Dingdong Dantes, was asked to chip in as a producer. But he begged off it and said he'll just star in it. The film's producer, Joyce Bernal, is one of its producers. It's highly probable that Eugene Domingo herself is also one of them.

In the movie though, there's one role that need to be filled - the antagonist role. Eugene is the lead character and Dingdong is her leading man. The on-screen bad guy's shoes is yet unassigned. Piolo Pascual is tempted to take it. But when he consulted with the big bosses of Star Magic, more particular with Mr. Johnny Manahan, he was advised against the idea of playing second fiddle con bad guy in the film. So Piolo remained in the background and Zanjoe Marudo was given the role.

Wise decision? Maybe. Star Magic knows what's best for him.

"Manila" Premiere Night at CCP

Piolo Pascual's "Manila" premiered at the CCP last Friday. It was an overwhelming success, as people and fans lined up in the country's finest theater to watch Piolo's new film. "Manila" is chosen to be Cinemalaya's opening film.

Piolo was there that night, and her date was none other than the beautiful KC Concepcion. Piolo said she invited her and he was quite lucky that she agreed. They both watched Manila together. Piolo said it is only his second time to watch the film, the first being at the Cannes Film Festival.

KC said it was one of the best films she has ever saw. This is proof that "Manila" is a film deserving of its recognition. Aside from Cannes, "Manila" was also played at the Moscow Film Festival.

Piolo Pascual's Manila will be shown in select theaters on July 22. However, for fans who wants to catch the movie today, July 17, can go to the 2009 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Manila is chosen to be the opening film of the festival.

Piolo Pascual Gives KC a 5-Year Supply of Her Favorite Perfrume

KC uses the perfume Frederick Malle that can't be bought in the Philippines. So Piolo got this idea of buying the perfume in enormous quantities when he was in France for Cannes. Not a dozen or two - Piolo gave KC enough to last her 5 years worth of use.

Piolo was generous soul. And as for KC, the effort only showed how thoughtful he can really be. KC is being courted by Piolo, which people mistake for a publicity stunt for their upcoming teleserye, Lovers in Paris.

Piolo denies the fact that it's all for the sake of media leverage. In fact, he wants everything about him and KC as quiet as possible for people not to get the wrong impressions.

Piolo Pascual Working with DingDong Dantes in a Movie

Piolo Pascual is collaborating with DingDong Dantes in a movie. And the leading woman is no other than Eugene Domingo. It's might be exciting to see two beautiful men competing against one not-so-pretty woman. However, Piolo is not going to be an actor in the movie. Instead, he is going to be one of its producers.

If there's one word to describe Piolo, it would be beautiful. That's how he landed in one of the spots for Yes! Magazines's 100 Most Beautiful Stars. Piolo is beautiful inside out. Aside from his drool-worthy looks, his heart is filled with humility. That's why he's blessed more.

Piolo is categorized by the magazine feature as one of the most beautiful leading men. He shared the distinction with fellow Star Magic artist John Lloyd Cruz and rival Dingdong Dantes.

Piolo Pascual is Courting KC Again

Piolo vocally admits that he is wooing his leading lady in Lovers in Paris, KC Concepcion. KC, on the other hand, is not giving Piolo any answer at the moment. In fact, she said that she'll just text him so he'll know if he is to continue or to stop his intentions. Piolo admitted that he is yet to receive that text message.

However, Piolo doesn't want people to think that he's just doing this as a promotion for their upcoming series, which is set to be aired in July. He says that his intentions are pure and that he is courting KC in a traditional way. He goes to her house with chocolates and flowers, although chocolates can make KC fat. He even met with KC's mom, Sharon Cuneta in one of his visits.

Piolo don't want to elaborate on his intentions or anything else about KC because his efforts might be mistaken as a promotional stint, which he doesn't really want to happen.

Piolo Pascual Hopes to Produce More Films

The first movie that Piolo Pascual produced is Manila. And it's a great indie project, given the fact that it was recognized at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. And right now, it has received invitations to 8 more international film fest, including the Moscow Film Fest.

Piolo wishes to join the team to Moscow but he said he might not be able to due to his previous commitments. Manila also gave Piolo the rare chance to be nominated as Best Actor in Cannes.

Right now, Piolo will be producing a commercial film and not another indie movie as previously reported. The main characters are Eugene Domingo and DingDong Dantes, which will be a comedy flick. The working title is Kimmy Dora (Kambal sa Kiyeme). This one will be directed by his close friend, Joyce Bernal.

When asked if he would like to direct as well, Piolo said it's a tough job. He is not into venturing to it right now but he can't tell. Maybe in the future. He's just an occasional producer but he hopes to be successful here and that he can make more projects in the future.

Piolo Pascual to Appear in Maruja

Piolo Pascual will be back acting on TV, this time with Kristine Hermosa via Maruja. Piolo will play a guest role in the series. He'll appear in Maruja's dreams and he'll be the third man who will boggle Maruja's mind. Piolo will be seen in the series starting June 20.

This one's a short stint but it will surely be worth watching. Piolo Pascual is reunited with another Star Magic talent, Kristine Hermosa. Their last soap together was Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako, which was aired 10 years ago.

Piolo Pascual's Billboards Torn Down

DPWH ordered the tearing down of billboards along the major highways that has explicit themes or those that can cause distraction to the drivers on moving traffic. Many of sexually-themed billboards are already taken down. But even those that features actors and actresses donning sexy outfits are being considered as well.

Most advertisers voluntarily took their billboards down, even if they are not requested by the said government department. One such billboard removed was Piolo Pascual's San Mig billboard, which pictures him wearing just a pair of pants and no shirt. He was joined by a Fil-Am model in the ad and she's wearing a blue swimsuit.

Piolo Pascual Readies for Star Magic US Tour

Piolo Pascual, as an exclusive talent of Star Magic, will figure prominently in the "Star Magic: The World Concert Tour" that will begin its first leg in the US very soon.

All Star Magic talents will be there, from the veteran ones like Claudine Barretto and Kristine Hermosa to the newer league like Matt Evans and Jon Avila.

Piolo will do a song number together with Sam Milby and John Lloyd Cruz. Everyone included in the Star Magic roster will be at the event.

The concert will be held on June 27 at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. There will be a second show the following day in Cow Palace Arena San Francisco, California.

Piolo Pascual a Guest Singer on Kris and Baby James's Album

Star Records produced an educational training album for kids, via celebrity mother and son team, Kris Aquino and Baby James Yap. The album's title is "We are 1" and Piolo Pascual lent his talent to it via the song "Thank God I Found You".

It is a two-disc CD which also features the voices of Aiza Seguerra, Gary Valenciano, and Rhap Salazar. The voices of Kris Aquino and Santino of May Bukas Pa can be heard in the CD as well.

Piolo Pascual Produces An Indie Film Anew

After the success of Manila, which is Piolo Pascual's first official, full length film production, he's on a roll. He said he enjoys being a producer and is now making another film. This time, he won't star in the movie and will only take the back seat. He'll be the boss, so to speak. Piolo once said that being an actor and a producer is hard. He knew that for a fact while doing Manila.

This time around, he'll try his hand to be just the producer of KimmyDora, Eugene Domingo's first solo film. It will launch her as a star and it should be a fun movie to watch. Comedienne Eugene Domingo will be joined by Dingdong Dantes in this film as his leading man.

Piolo Pascual's Manila Goes to Moscow

After being recognized in the Cannes Film Festival, Piolo Pascual's indie film, Manila, is now Moscow bound. It will be submitted as one of the entries in the upcoming Moscow Film Festival in Russia. If accepted, Piolo is most likely to go there again to present his film. If his hectic schedule will permit him, that is.

Manila is also being drafted to be Cinemalaya's 2009 opening film. However, there's still a lot of loose ends with this offer, as Star Cinema is not very much sold with the idea. Star Cinema has bought the film's local distribution rights. Therefore, they have the last say as far as the film's showing in the local theaters or cinemas is concerned. The target showing date of Manila is in August.

Piolo Pascual and his Cannes Acting Skills

It wasn’t publicly stated that Piolo Pascual is nominated as Best Actor in the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival. He flew there for Manila as its producer, not as its lead actor. It was a surprise that he was actually nominated for best actor in the event.

That alone is an achievement to take home. Even though a US critic has said that his acting was bland for the film, he was also described as “hunky at best”. Piolo might not be able to win the highest regard for an actor in the said festival. But being there, representing the country is a good achievement. What’s great is that they went home with the Best Director trophy, courtesy of Brillante Mendoza’s Kinatay.

Now that Cannes is over, Manila should hit the local cinemas very soon. Manila will be locally distributed by Star Cinema.

Piolo Pascual Nominated as Best Actor in Cannes

For his performance in Manila, the official entry to the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, Piolo Pascual was given the rare chance to be nominated for best actor. Unfortunately, he didn't win the award. It was given to Austrian Christoph Waltz who appeared in Inglorious Basterd of critically acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino

Piolo didn't win. But fellow Filipino Brillante Mendoza bagged the Best Director title in the prestigious festival. His entry is Kinatay, starring Coco Martin. Incidentally, an American critic said that his film is the worst entry to the Cannes thus far. Well, he can eat his words now. For he could be the worst movie critic in the world. Mendoza won best director. That's enough vindication for him.

The Philippine delegation for the 62nd Cannes Film Festival is composed of Piolo Pascual, Sid Lucero, Raya Martin, Arleen Cuevas, and Adolf Alix, Jr. It was a sight to behold, as these men and women were joined by big names in the international movie industry.

Piolo Pascual represented his film, Manila, where is also its producer. Manila is an adaptation of two films, one of Lino Brocka and another of Ishmael Bernal. Also starring in the film is Rosanna Roces, Alessandra de Rossi, and Baron Geisler.

Aside from Manila, other Filipino films such as Independencia and Kinatay were also part of the Festival.

In a recent interview, Piolo Pascual revealed that it is his career that's his priority up to this very day. Now that Judy Ann and Ryan have married, people can't help but ask, when will this 32-year old hunk/heartthrob/matinee idol will ever tie the knot?

Piolo Pascual made his schedule clear for his reentry to France, not just as an actor but this time, but as a producer. And at a very prestigious event at that. It was previously reported that Piolo's co-produced film, Manila, had made it to the Cannes Film Festival. As a proud man behind and in front of the camera, he gladly represented his movie in the Festival.

Cannes Film Festival is a widely-acclaimed international film festival in the world. With only a handful of films nominated in different categories, it is but an honor for our country to have at least 4 films and recognitions in the event.

Piolo will be back to the country again for his local engagements and of course, for the taping of Lovers in Paris with KC Concepcion.

Judy Ann Confirmed: I Invited Piolo to My Wedding

Speculations can now be finally laid to rest as to whether or not Piolo was just invited to the delayed reception in Makati and not in the exclusive by-invitation-only Judy Ann-Ryan wedding in Batangas.

Coming from the mouth of the actress, Judy Ann said that Piolo was welcome both at the wedding and at the Makati reception. However, Piolo never really came on the two occasions.

Piolo said he had work the day of the wedding. And on the Makati reception, he has to enjoy the waters with his family. Piolo didn't intentionally snob the event because he said that it was okay between all of them. And he sent his greeting wishing them well.

Attending or not, there's still controversy. Good decision not to attend? Or not?

Piolo Pascual a No-Show on Judy Ann's Makati Reception

It has been the talk of the town whether or not Piolo Pascual is going to be invited to Judy Ann's wedding to Ryan Agoncillo. If not at the actual ceremony, at least at the Manila reception which was held at Le Souffle Rockwell.

It can be remembered the Judy Ann's manager Alfie Lorenzo only has bad mouth for Piolo. As for Judy Ann's now husband Ryan Agoncillo, they've got some rift a few years ago. So the big question was, will Piolo Pascual ever be invited?

As a matter of fact, he is. For Judy Ann, Ryan, and Piolo, everything's already okay between all of them. Alfie may still think otherwise but he's relatively harmless - at least not when he's writing his columns.

Anyway, despite the exclusive invitation, Piolo was a no-show at the Makati reception. He was better off surfing with a sibling. Not that he snubbed the event. He said that he's just trying giving the couple the time together that they deserve. Like Piolo, Judy Ann's former leading man Derek Ramsay is also nowhere to be found.

Lovers in Paris Targets June as Airing Date

Piolo Pascual said that he and KC Concepcion are continually working on the Lovers In Paris set to get the show all canned up. The target airing date would be in June and if everything works out good, the series should hit the boob tube by then.

Piolo said that they're taping every other day right now. However, he and KC still have international obligations to fulfill so it's going to be a tough schedule for both of them in the coming days. KC will go with her mom Sharon Cuneta for her US tour and him back to France for the Cannes Film Festival. The festival runs from May 13 to 24 of this year.

Piolo Pascual may just head back to France without KC Concepcion. Nor will it be for Lovers in Paris. Piolo's first try in producing indie films brought him too much recognition even he can't believe it. Manila, which is a twin bill focusing on Ismael Bernal and Lino Broka's past films, had made it through the Cannes Film Festival. It's an international recognition and Piolo can only be too proud.

Piolo would like to attend the festival's awards night this May. After which, Star Cinema would be locally distributing the film. Piolo Pascual fans should not miss him in this rare acting piece. He plays a low-life scum in both stories, something we don't see him doing much.

The ad has a summer look to it, although the product is not in anyway connected with the season. Piolo's billboard is for San Mig Coffee Sugar free, which is a good way to keep your body slim and fit while enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Piolo Pascual is one of the most sought-after endorsers today, with a recent study placing him on slot No. 5. Advertising specialists say he's effective because he's sincere. And it is seen right through the screen or the billboard where he appears. Piolo is joined by Michelle Paloma in this ad, who is a Fil-Am commercial model.

Isabel Oli's Crush on Piolo Pascual

In a recent interview, Isabel Oli revealed that she has a crush on Piolo Pascual. It started when the two first made the Max's commercial. Now they are reunited again to continue the love story that they portray on the advertisement.

Isabel said that Max's was practically the one that launched her showbiz career. And she can only be thankful that she was able to work with them again in yet another endorsement deal. Piolo Pascual also quips that he suggested to one of the Max's marketing heads to bring back Isabel Oli and their love story in the next Max's commercial. That happened and the rest is history.

With the success of Manila in the international scene, Piolo Pascual was more than excited with his new 'baby'. Apparently, Manila is the first film he co-produced. The film was directed by Adolf Alix and Raya Martin. It is a twin bill, with Piolo Pascual starring in both.

The initial play date of Manila was March actually. But they waited a month later so they can nominate it as an entry in the Cannes Film Festival. With the film being shortlisted in the finals, Piolo can't help but be even more excited about it.

Piolo was hoping to attend the film's premier in France next month. Manila will be locally distributed by Star Cinema. And he's also looking at producing another movie again, this time a comedy top billed by Eugene Domingo. Congratulations Piolo on your new endeavor and its impending success!

Piolo Pacual's Manila Made it to the Cannes Film Festival

Piolo Pascual's indie film, Manila made it through the Special Screening category of the Cannes Film Festival. The film, including two others, Independencia and Kinatay, were finalists too in the other categories of the festival.

Manila is yet to be shown here. But with the good reviews it is getting internationally, Piolo can only hope that it would get good followers here as well. When this movie fair well in the box office, it could actually change the trend of indie films in the country.

Manila is co-produced by Piolo Pascual himself and he's very excited about this film. He even took it to Star Cinema's bosses so that they would agree to be the film's distributor in the country.

It is still not confirmed if Piolo would fly to France for the festival. But definitely is excited about the success that his indie movie is currently enjoying.

Piolo Pascual Back after the Heartthrobs Tour

Piolo Pascual was finally back in the country after a successful Heartthrobs 2009 Tour. He and Sam Milby, along with Pokwang, John Lloyd Cruz, and Bea Alonzo took US and Canada by storm with their performances.

Piolo was interviewed by ABS-CBN's Showbiz News Ngayon when he arrived. In the exclusive interview, he was asked about the ladies who were linked to him in the past and present times.

He was asked about Judy Ann Santos, Rica Peralejo, and KC Concepcion. He said he was happy for Judy Ann's marriage and for Rica's new boyfriend whom he also know personally.

As for KC, he has got a little present for her from his US tour now that he arrived. Whatever that present it, he didn't disclose to the press. Piolo is back in KC's arms, so to speak, as they would continue shooting Lovers In Paris, which is slated to be shown in 2 month's time. Here's the video.

Before flying to Canada during the Holy Week, Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo found themselves busy performing in Pampanga for Globe Asiatique's unveiling of a dream project, Xevera Mabalacat.

Piolo and Sarah were the performers in the said event, with Tim Yap acting as host. This is a short gig for Piolo, whose work schedule takes him to Canada and the US for the Heartthrobs 2009 Tour. And this is right after he came back from Paris with KC Concepcion.

Piolo's like a jet setter these days, which his work requiring him to go out of the country several times in a year to fulfill international singing and performance obligations. Piolo will be back soon. The fans here are already missing him.

Piolo Pascual's Manila Breaks a Deal with Star Cinema

Piolo Pascual has gone indie again. But this time, he's one of the producers. And just lately, Piolo appeared before Star Cinema's panel of executives which consisted of Malou Santos and Olivia Lamasan, among others.

Piolo felt like defending his college thesis all over again as he tried to convince Star Cinema bosses to distribute the film for them. The film remains to be indie, but not digital. Manila is shot in 16mm film, then blown up to 36mm to fit cinema theater screens.

Manila is a remake of Lino Broka's two films, Manila and Jaguar. And as such, it is a twin bill, where Piolo Pascual stars. Included in the film are prized actors and actresses in the likes of Rosana Roces, Alessandra DeRossi, and Baron Geisler, among others.

Piolo was successful in his deal because he was able to win Star Cinema's consent in distributing the film.

Piolo Pascual at Star Magic World Tour

As early as now, Star Magic stars are promoting their world tour, which will happen roughly three months from today. Piolo Pascual, as a true-blue Star Magic talent, joins his brothers and sisters in the show.

This is a two-day event and it will be held on July 27 and 28. The first venue will be in Ontario, California and the second show will be held in San Francisco California. Piolo Pascual's Holy Week Schedule

With the Holy Week fast approaching, many stars are taking a break and are heading to the beach to relax. Not Piolo. He's not going out to recuperate this Holy Week. Instead, he flew to Canada for the Heartthrobs Tour yet again. He will be joined by Sam Milby, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, and Pokwang.

Piolo would be out of the country most of April, as the same group would continue to the US in the next week for a series of shows. This is the second time that the Heartthrobs is taken to North America for Filipino fans to enjoy.

Piolo would be back in the latter part of April to continue shooting for his upcoming teleserye with KC Concepcion, Lovers in Paris, which is slated to be shown in July.

When it comes to the delicate thing called love, it is very important that the facts are set straight. Piolo and KC are friends. That’s real. But whatever lies ahead is still to behold.

Unfortunately for Piolo, KC’s priority isn’t courtship or love between the two of them. Right now, she only wants to be friends with his leading men in order for her to work with them well. Piolo Pascual on Lorna's HOPE Album

Piolo Pascual, as a Star Records talent, sang one of the songs in Lorna Tolentino's HOPE Album. The Album reached Gold status, as awarded last Sunday on ASAP 09. HOPE is produced by Star Records for the benefit of cancer patients.

The album was inspired by Rudy Fernandez, a cancer patient who succumbed to the disease last year. Lorna Tolentino served as the album's ambassadress. She personally chose the songs to embody Rudy's struggles, strength, and hope throughout the ordeal. The songs the appeared in the album are Rudy's favorites.

Piolo sang I’ll Be There For You/I Will Be Here in the album. He is joined by other great singers like Jamie Rivera and Gary Valenciano. Rudy Fernandez's friends sang in the album too, namely Tirso Cruz III, Bong Revilla, and Jinggoy Estrada, among others.
