The Debate is On: 15 Million or 5.8 Million Love Me Again First Day Gross?

Fans are raving. The detractors are graving. This is the scenario as far as Love Me Again's first day gross is concerned. A local tabliod entertainment columnist, Allan Diones, claimed that the Piolo-Angel starrer raked in a mere Php 5.8 million nationwide on its first day. He said it was according to a very reliable source. The figure is printed in his column at Abante Tonite.

On the other side, there were unofficial reports that Piolo's movie with Angel grossed a big Php 15 million on its first day. While that number is quite high, it is not that unbelievable, considering the way the people flocked in to its premiere at SM Megamall. On its first day of showing, there were two theaters for Love Me Again in almost all SM Cinemas. Why? To accommodate the influx of movie goers all eager to watch Piolo and Angel on the big screen. I myself watched on the first day. I would say that the number of people is twice as much as I expected. The Php 5.8 million figure is way too low for what I have seen. They should have raised it to Php 8 million at least, to make it a little believable.

However, the people behind Star Cinema is mum about the movie's official box office sales on its first day. Today, Love Me Again marks its second week of showing. No figures from the producers are out yet. Is this a strategy? Or a marketing study? Remember that Star Cinema didn't release first day gross values of the Sarah-John Lloyd movie, A Very Special Love either. But it was the strongest last year, before Ai-Ai's MMFF entry, Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat.

Bottomline? 5.8 million or 15 million, it really doesn't matter. The movie was watched and flocked by many Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual fans. It wouldn't take away the fact that it was a good movie with great cinematography and superb acting. It's worth your money, especially if you're a fan. I'd watch it over again if I could.

Piolo Pascual's Love Me Again First Day Gross

Rumors has it that Love Me Again has figured a mere Php 5.8 million during its first day of showing. This figure is a far cry from Star Cinema's strong movies, like Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz's A Very Special Love and MMFF's entry Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat.

Even so, if the numbers were indeed true, it is still a good showing for the Piolo-Angel starer, which will parked for now as the two will pair it off with other artists.

However, the source of the Php 5.8 million first day gross is merely "a very reliable source". Star Cinema is yet to come up with the official announcement as to how well the movie really faired. On the other end of the grapevine though, there were claims that the movie grossed anywhere from Php 15M to Php 16M on its first day.

But basing on the premiere night turn out of Love Me Again and the way movie goers really flocked into the cinemas last January 15, the low national first day gross seemed to be just a rumor and nothing else. It seems that the fans of the team up are getting uneasy as to how much the movie really made on its first showing day.

After Land Down Under, Piolo Pascual is slated to do a teleserye. However, there is still nothing definite about it. When Lobo was nearing to its end on prime time TV, rumors has it that Piolo would work with Angel again via Maria Mercedes. "Land Down Under" Showing on February?

It is rumored that Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin's top billed movie, Land Down Under had changed its play date and would rather be shown in February instead of in November. This is such a big disappointment to fans, who are clamoring for the Piolo - Angel team up for months now.

Piolo Pascual gave his side of the story and denied the rumor strongly. He flew to Guam just recently to figure in ASAP's presentation there. The ASAP in Guam episode will be aired on Sunday, October 19.

After Guam, Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin went back to Darwin, Australia to finish shooting for their upcoming film, Land Down Under. The movie is set to be released in November after Toni and Vhong's My Only U, also from Star Cinema.

In his interview, Piolo also added that their movie would feature spectacular views shot from Bukidnon and Australia so fans and viewers would definitely get their money's worth.
