Piolo Pascual is Nominated for Best Actor at the Luna Awards

When every movie award-giving body is intent to giving recognition to indie films, Piolo Pascual's "Paano Kita Iibigin" was given nods and praises. The film was nominated as best picture and Piolo Pascual is on the running for Best Actor. Co-star Regine Velasquez is also nominated for Best Actress. Other nominees for best actor are Paolo Contis, John Lloyd Cruz, and Aga Mulach.

Piolo Pascual's New Challenge: Learn Horseback Riding

In the new movie set in Australia, Piolo Pascual will have to learn yet another skill. After playing a military man in Lobo, Piolo would now be a cowboy in this new movie with Angel Locsin. Seems like Piolo's projects with leading lady Angel requires a lot of hard work and always a new set of skills.

The movie is made under Star Cinema and is tentatively entitled "Australia". The movie is believed to be the first offering of Star Cinema on their 15th year anniversary. Tentative showing date is in November.

Piolo Pascual for Angel Locsin on Boy and Kris

Angel Locsin celebrated her on-TV fans day at Boy and Kris last Friday. Along with her fans, Angel celebrated the event with a prepared video from two of her closest friends at her new home, ABS-CBN. The two were Piolo Pascual, her leading man in most of her ABS-CBN projects and Luis Manzano, her rumored boyfriend.

Piolo was featured on a video asking fans questions that pertain to Angel. He also left a short message for her, wishing her good luck in her new career and new home. Angel was also thankful to Piolo, saying he was the most kind and down-to-earth person she has ever known.

Piolo Pascual on Gary V's New Album

25 big stars will grace Gary V's new tribute album under Star Cinema. All the songs of Gary V will be interpreted by the country's well known singers in lieu to Gary V's 25th anniversary in showbusiness.

Piolo Pascual will render "How Did You Know" in the album. He will be joined by stars such as Martin Nievera, South Border, Jericho Rosales, Bituin Escalante, Aiza Seguerra, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sarah Geronimo, and many others.

The album will be entitled "GV25 All-Star Tribute Collection" and will be released under Star Records

A Pinkish White Date With Piolo Pascual

Pond's, the country's leading manufacturer of personal effects, had recently launched a promotion called "A Pinkish White Date". In this promo, users of Pond's Pinkish White line of products would have a chance to win a date with Piolo Pascual.

"Maria Mercedes" could be Piolo Pascual's Next Soap on ABS-CBN

"Maria Mercedes" is a Mexican telenovela starring Thalia, the same actress who played "Marirmar" and "Maria la del Barrio". Rumors has it that Piolo Pascual will play as Maria Mercedes' love interest, who will be played by none other than Angel Locsin.

If this soap pushes through with Piolo Pascual as the leading man, this will be Piolo and Angel's second team up in a soap opera after the very successful "Lobo". "Lobo" topped the July Nutam Ratings. It is hoped that Maria Mercedes will duplicate the success Lobo enjoyed.

Maria Mercedes will star Edu Manzano, Cherie Gil, Nancy Castillogne, and Nina Jose among others. This new soap is expected to be aired in 2009.

Piolo Pascual's Movie with Angel Update

Piolo Pascual is busy making a movie with Angel Locsin, his leading lady in the successful teleserye "Lobo". The tentative title is "Australia", which only means that most of the movie is shot and created in the same country. The movie is set to finish soon and could be the next offering of Star Cinema after KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez's "For the First Time" under the same movie outfit.

Piolo Pascual's New Indie Film, "Manila"

After convincing his handlers to do an indie film, Piolo Pascual is excited with his new but highly unglamorous role in "Manila". This one's a story of druggie rocker who also works as a bodyguard. Piolo's role is a poor drug addict who lives in the slums of Manila.

This new movie is very far from Piolo's matinee idol roles. The setting is dark and his character is shady so expect to see a very different Piolo Pascual. "Manila" is a remake of movie classics "Jaguar" by Lino Broca and "Manila By Night" by Ishmael Bernal.

Piolo will star with Baron Geisler and Alessandra de Rossi in this movie. The movie is written by Raya Martin and Adolf Alix. Piolo Pascual is a co-producer of the movie.

Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin's Lobo Topped July 2008 NUTAM

Amidst the TV ratings controversy, "Lobo", the teleserye featuring Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin, was hailed as the most watched show throughout the Philippines in the NUTAM or the national TV ratings as gathered by AGB Philippines.

"Lobo" shared the top position with "The Singing Bee", also from ABS-CBN. Third spot goes to Dyesebel, a GMA Network production, which also leads the Mega Manila Ratings.
